Notes: CF-BRO c/n 113C was registered to Pulsifer Bros. Ltd. on February 1, 1946 the second of 11 Cub Aircraft purchased by Orville in 1946. One of the most prized students of the Waterville Flying School was 21 year old Miss Ina Milne. Under the tutelage of former RCAF Flying Officer Don Keith, Ina flew solo (CF-DAY) on September 18, 1946 after only 4 hours and 25 minutes. Ina Milne-Palmer rela- ted on record "I vividly remember how to “side-slip” into the landing in case there was a cross-wind. We had to stall which was scary the first time I did it. And yes, I am still here to tell the tale!! It was very expensive!!! as it cost $10.00 for half an hour dual and $8.00 solo and I was making $25.00 a week!". Ina also shared her logbook and it was quickly discovered that she had flown in 5 of the Pulsifer Cubs - CF-DAY, CF-BUQ, CF-BRO, CF-DAZ and CF-EGE. CF-BRO was purchased by Don Keith on October 9, 1946. CF-BRO was written off following an accident on Quidi Vidi Lake, Saint John's, Newfoundland on November 7, 1953. ================================================================================================== Remarques: CF-BRO c/n 113C a été immatriculé au nom de Pulsifer Bros. Ltd. le 1er février 1946, le deuxième des 11 appareils Cub Aircraft achetés par Orville en 1946. L'une des élèves les plus remarquables de la Waterville Flying School était Mlle Ina Milne, âgée de 21 ans. Sous la tutelle de l'ancien officier d'aviation de l'ARC Don Keith, Ina a effectué son premier vol solo (CF-DAY) le 18 septembre 1946 après seulement 4 heures et 25 minutes. Ina Milne-Palmer a relaté officiellement "Je me souviens très bien comment faire un “side-slip” à l'atterrissage en cas de vent de travers. Nous devions faire un décrochage, ce qui était effrayant la première fois que je l'ai fait. Et oui, je suis toujours là pour le raconter!! C'était très cher!!! car ça coûtait 10,00 $ pour une demi-heure en double commande et 8,00 $ en solo et je gagnais 25,00 $ par semaine!". Ina a également partagé son carnet de vol et on a rapidement découvert qu'elle avait volé à bord de 5 des Cubs de Pulsifer - CF-DAY, CF-BUQ, CF-BRO, CF-DAZ et CF-EGE. CF-BRO a été acheté par Don Keith le 9 octobre 1946. CF-BRO a été radié à la suite d'un accident sur le lac Quidi Vidi, à Saint-Jean, Terre-Neuve, le 7 novembre 1953. |
