Notes: CF-ARA c/n 14 was the second production Taylor E-2 manufactured at the Bradford, PA factory. It was also the very first exported Cub and imported to Ottawa, ON in August 1931. Its last flight was in Sudbury, ON only 7 years later (photo 2). While stored at Little Round Lake, 20 km south-west of Sudbury, snow slid off a shed roof crushing the fuselage. Included is a picture of the E-2 prototype NC10547 c/n 11 with C. G. Taylor, its designer and Bud Haven, its pilot. A Canadian pilot/instructor at Roosevelt Field flew this Taylor E-2 on a 10 minute demonstrator flight October 24, 1930 taken from his pilot's log book "from factory". ================================================================================================== Remarques: CF-ARA c/n 14 était le deuxième Taylor E-2 de série fabriqué à l’usine de Bradford, en Pennsylvanie. Il fut également le tout premier Cub exporté et importé à Ottawa, en Ontario, en août 1931. Son dernier vol eut lieu à Sudbury, en Ontario, seulement sept ans plus tard (photo 2). Alors qu’il était entreposé à Little Round Lake, à 20 km au sud-ouest de Sudbury, la neige glissant du toit d’une remise écrasa le fuselage. Sont également incluses une photographie du prototype E-2 NC10547 c/n 11 avec son concepteur, C. G. Taylor, ainsi que son pilote, Bud Haven. Un pilote-instructeur canadien de Roosevelt Field effectua un vol de démonstration de 10 minutes à bord de ce Taylor E-2 le 24 octobre 1930, comme l’indique son carnet de vol « sortie d'usine ». |
