Notes: CF-BAX c/n C-838 was the first Taylor J-2 assembled by Cub Aircraft Corp. It was imported as parts from Taylor Aircraft Co., Bradford, PA., entering Canada at Fort Erie, Ontario August 27, 1936. The total cost was $1,119.85 and the Continental A-40-4, 37 horsepower was the most expensive component. Gordon B. Rayner, AME and "Factory Inspector" began assembly at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in August. Department of Defence, Aircraft Inspection Detachment "inspected the work at different stages and when completed" at the CNE, was satisfied with "the work according to the drawings supplied by the parent company". CF-BAX was retured to Hamilton and certified by October 1936. It was sold to Gordon F. Munro and registered October 20, 1936. It was photgraphed with other Cub Aircaft for a March 1937 Canadian Aviation advertisement. CF-BAX and 3 other Cub Aircraft were destroyed in a hangar fire at the Toronto Flying Club on April 10, 1937 all pictured in the same advertisement lineup. =============================================================================================== Remarques: CF-BAX c/n C-838 fut le premier Taylor J-2 assemblé par Cub Aircraft Corp., importé en pièces de Taylor Aircraft Co.,Bradford, PA., entré au Canada à Fort Érié, Ontario, le 27 août 1936. Rayner, TEA et « inspecteur d'usine », débuta l'assemblage à la Exposition nationale canadienne (ENC) en août. La Défense, Détachement d'inspection, « inspecta les travaux à divers stades et à l'achèvement » à l'ENC, et fut satisfait « du travail conforme aux plans fournis par la société mère ». Le CF-BAX fut retourné à Hamilton et certifié en octobre 1936. Vendu à Gordon F. Munro et immatriculé le 20 octobre 1936. Il fut photographié avec d'autres Cub pour une pub de Canadian Aviation, mars 1937. Le CF-BAX et 3 autres Cub furent détruits dans l'incendie du hangar du Toronto Flying Club le 10 avril 1937, tous visibles sur la même pub. |
