Notes: CF-BBY c/n C-1091 was assembled by Cub Aircraft Ltd. and sold to J. V. Bowman, Hudson, Quebec. CF-BBY was registered February 15, 1937. It stated the Continental A-40-4 had H.P. CF-BBY remained in Southern Ontario, even owned by (Charlie) Warren Air Service at the Hamilton Municipal Airport. The last owner was K. C. Fitzpatrick, Wainfleet, Ontario in November 1946. CF-BBY was destroyed at the St. Catharines Airfield hangar #1 fire, March 6, 1947. Ten aircraft perished, many belonging to the St. Catharines Flying Club, including Cub Aircraft CF-BLI, CF-BOR and CF-BUE. Cub Aircraft Corp. Ltd. had offered to lease hangar #1 in late 1946, but this fire negated the offer and stopped their expansion plans. In 2008 R. Revell and T. Dietrich of Kitchener, Ontario imported a 1936 American Taylor J-2 c/n 709, NC16699. Civil registration CF-BBY became available and in 2010 their aircraft was re-branded in the colours of the St. Catharines Flying Club. The original 1947 CF-BBY was never owned by the St. Catharines Flying Club. In 2023 T. Eckensviller, Thunder Bay, Ontario purchased the re-registered CF-BBY and flies it from the Tiger Boys at the Guelph (Ontario) Airpark. ================================================================================================== Remarques: Le CF-BBY c/n C-1091 a été assemblé par Cub Aircraft Ltd. et vendu à J. Dix aéronefs ont péri, plusieurs appartenant au St. Catharines Flying Club, dont les Cub Aircraft CF-BLI, CF-BOR et CF-BUE. Cub Aircraft Corp. Ltd. avait offert de louer le hangar n° 1 à la fin de 1946, mais cet incendie a annulé l'offre et mis fin à leurs projets d'expansion. En 2008, R. Revell et T. Dietrich de Kitchener (Ontario) ont importé un Taylor J-2 américain de 1936, c/n 709, NC16699. L'immatriculation civile CF-BBY est devenue disponible et, en 2010, leur appareil a été repeint aux couleurs du St. Catharines Flying Club. Le CF-BBY original de 1947 n'a jamais appartenu au St. Catharines Flying Club. En 2023, T. Eckensviller, de Thunder Bay (Ontario), a acheté le CF-BBY ré-immatriculé et le pilote depuis les Tiger Boys à l'aéroparc de Guelph (Ontario). |
