Notes: CF-BEF c/n C-1103 was registered to Hay Bros. in Calgary, Alberta on April 10, 1937, finally having the dual-ignition A-40-5 engine. Less than 12 months later CF-BEF was involved in a landing accident and sold back to Cub Aircraft on April 4, 1938. Repaired, CF-BEF was sold to Dan Gordon, Port Arthur, Ontario. It managed to survive a rocky 6 years. A minor accident that occurred in November 1939 prevented its registration during the war years. An attempted sale was reversed when the prospective buyers realized that CF-BEF had capsized in Lake Superior. After a failed sale, CF-BEF was sold to 2 brothers at Sioux Lookout, Ontario. Sadly one of the MacKenzie brothers perished when CF-BEF crashed on July 24, 1946 on Minnitaka Lake. ================================================================================================== Remarques: CF-BEF c/n C-1103 a été immatriculé au nom de Hay Bros. à Calgary, en Alberta, le 10 avril 1937, enfin équipé du moteur A-40-5 à double allumage. Moins de 12 mois plus tard, le CF-BEF a été impliqué dans un accident à l'atterrissage et revendu à Cub Aircraft le 4 avril 1938. Réparé, le CF-BEF a été vendu à Dan Gordon, à Port Arthur, en Ontario. Il a réussi à survivre à 6 années mouvementées. Un accident mineur survenu en novembre 1939 a empêché son immatriculation durant les années de guerre. Une tentative de vente a été annulée lorsque les acheteurs potentiels se sont rendu compte que le CF-BEF avait chaviré dans le lac Supérieur. Après une vente manquée, le CF-BEF a été vendu à 2 frères à Sioux Lookout, en Ontario. Tristement, l'un des frères MacKenzie a péri lorsque le CF-BEF s'est écrasé le 24 juillet 1946 sur le lac Minnitaka. |
