Notes: CF-BEZ c/n C-1105 was registered to the Brandon Flying Club on July 27, 1937. Its history started with a very notable coincidence. Pilot R. L. Gibson took ownership on behalf of the Brandon, Manitoba club. Robert L. Gibson shared the same surname and initials with Russell L. Gibson, President of Cub Aircraft Corp. Ltd. In January 1938 Robert took part in the five aircraft search for missing pilot Mike Sawchyn at Dauphin, Manitoba. It was a fellow pilot Cecil Leech who flew CF-BEZ in the search. Otherwise CF-BEZ stood as one of the most enigmatic entries in the pre-war registry; an aircraft that slipped into a completely undocumented existence during the war years under an unfulfilled five Not Taken Up status, before meeting its eventual quiet demise and deletion under the final ownership of James Wood in Windsor, Ontario sometime after October 1945. CF-BEZ was not officially deleted until 1950 when actioned by DoT. ================================================================================================== Remarques: CF-BEZ n/c C-1105 a été immatriculé au Brandon Flying Club le 27 juillet 1937. Son histoire a commencé par une coïncidence très notable. Le pilote R. L. Gibson a pris possession au nom du club de Brandon, Manitoba. Robert L. Gibson partageait le même nom de famille et les mêmes initiales que Russell L. Gibson, président de Cub Aircraft Corp. Ltd. En janvier 1938, Robert a participé à la recherche avec cinq appareils du pilote disparu Mike Sawchyn à Dauphin, Manitoba. C'est un collègue pilote, Cecil Leech, qui a piloté CF-BEZ lors de la recherche. Sinon, CF-BEZ est demeuré l'une des entrées les plus énigmatiques du registre d'avant-guerre; un appareil qui a glissé dans une existence complètement non documentée pendant les années de guerre sous un statut inachevé de cinq Not Taken Up (non pris en charge), avant de connaître sa disparition discrète et sa radiation sous la propriété finale de James Wood à Windsor, Ontario, quelque temps après octobre 1945. CF-BEZ n'a pas été officiellement radié avant 1950, lorsque le ministère des Transports a pris les mesures nécessaires. |
