Notes: CF-BFY c/n C-1106 was registered to the Toronto Flying Club at the Dufferin Airport, Toronto, Ontario on June 25, 1937. CF-BFY was sold to Peterboro Air Service Ltd. based at Lake Chemong, Ontario. All of the AI coloured images of CF-BFY are original from this timeframe. An accident occurred July 24, 1939. Its owner Roman Braun who was the passenger claimed the takeoff accident was caused by a down-draft. The actual cause was attributed to being overloaded. There was considerable damage, the log books disappeared and CF-BFY was repossessed by Cub Aircraft Corp. Ltd. for repairs. CF-BFY was sold to E. Horace Thomas and flown to Drummondville, Quebec on November 27, 1939. It was sold twice in 1946 remaining in Quebec. The certificate of airworthiness was allowed to lapse by February 21, 1947. No formal deletion was sent to DoT and by 1960, CF-BFY was formally deleted. Le sort documenté indiquait démantelé en 1951 sans aucune correspondance. |
